The Bears won the clash by one shot, with the 63-62 success keeping the side in fifth spot on the ladder.
Monday’s defeat leaves Smeaton at the bottom of the table after nine rounds.
Avenue got the victory in the second-versus-third battle with Creswick, while Buninyong joined the Wickers on points after beating Clunes.
In other games, top side City Oval defeated Midlands Golf and Daylesford triumphed over Sebastopol.
