The Bears stunned Ballarat Memorial Sports on its formidable home green with a 20-shot triumph.
Central Wendouree took 15 points from the match and now sit just four behind BMS, which clung onto fourth spot on the ladder by the skin of its teeth.
Top side Ballarat had a tough fight with bottom team Ballarat East, but eventually got home by two shots.
Ballarat is 20 points clear of second-placed Creswick, which trounced Webbcona on the weekend. The Wickers claimed all four rinks in a 72-shot blitz.
Third-placed Learmonth also had a win on Saturday afternoon, beating Smeaton by 11 shots.
Elsewhere in round nine, Mt Xavier defeated City Oval to now be just three points behind BMS.
Only two rounds of weekend pennant remain until the mid-season break.
