BALLARAT Police are appealing for witnesses following an incident that saw a cyclist taken to hospital in what is believed to be a hit and run.

A 53-year-old Templestowe man was knocked off his bike at the roundabout on York Street and Main Road about 4pm on Saturday, and the driver, believed to be in a grey sedan, drove down York Street.
The cyclist was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
