GWV will meet the Gold Coast Suns Academy in Brisbane on Sunday, May 5.
This is first time in five years the Rebels have ventured interstate, having played Queensland in the Sunshine State in 2014.
Rebels regional talent manager Phil Partington said trips of this nature were good experience for players, giving the youngsters a taste of an element of what was required as an AFL player.
The GWV Rebels launch their home and away campaign against Dandenong Stingrays at Mars Stadium on Saturday, March 23.
This will be part of a tripleheader with the Rebels girls under-18s and Rebels boys’ under-16 squad.
The Rebels boys and girls will also be part of an under-18 doubleheader at Mars Stadium on Sunday, May 12.
Some 130 players, which make up squads in Ballarat, Hampden, the South-West and Wimmera, have begun trial games.
These will lead to games involving players from all four regions at Mars Stadium on Sunday, February 17.
The final squad will comprise 45 to 50 and feature three over-age 19-year-olds – Jed Hill (Ballarat), Matt Lloyd (Wimmera) and James Clever (South West).
