The regional championships will see around 300 young athletes hit the track and field events in search of their best result.
Age-groups range from the under-9 category, right through to under-16 level.
The more successful athletes will advance to the state championships in Melbourne.
Ballarat Little Athletics president Shane Bicknell was pleased to be able to hold this event and welcome such an amount of young athletes to the facility.
Bicknell said it was great exposure for the club as well as giving an opportunity to athletes that hail from more remote areas of regional Victoria.
To be eligible to enter the region track and field carnivals athletes must be registered and be a financial Little Athletics Victoria competitive member and must have competed in a minimum of four weeks of competition
