Sunday will see Ballarat City travel to take on Melbourne Victory's youth team in the Football Federation Victoria national premier league two west season opener.
Robinson has been buoyed by a "brilliant" pre-season, but that will mean little unless it can convert that postivity on the track into strong performances on the pitch.
"We've come together, the boys are all confident in what we've done so far, now it's all just about playing games," Robinson said.
"We've got a core group of senior players and we've got a handful of young players that are going to get an opportunity to put their best foot forward.
"Now the challenge is, let's see what you can do on the big stage.
"We've got a breathe of fresh air with the youth coming through and they're going to get opportunities, but they've earned them.
"We need to continue the hard work and put it into game situations."
Robinson said Victory always posed a big challenge, but he was confident his group had done everything they could to perform at their best.
City will be close to full fitness, with 90% of its squad available for the clash.
