Two men are believed to have broken into the Hertford Street, Sebastopol business at 5.10am on Sunday morning and driven the truck out of the building through the front gates.
The truck, worth more than $40,000 was found today (Monday) burned out in the Canadian Forest.
CCTV footage of the incident, which has been circulated on social media, shows the truck being driven out of the business early on Sunday morning.
Lawler Bricklaying Pty Ltd employee Shayne Bridges said the company had forwarded a lot of footage onto police for investigation.
“They’ve broken in and stolen all of our keys and all of our fuel cards,” he said. “They’ve gone around and cased the place and decided to take the truck they have.
“They ploughed through the gate at 5.17am and I’ve got no doubt they planned to come back. We’ve also got footage of them coming back at 5.45am and a car’s driven past and they’ve hid.”
Mr Bridges said the truck stolen was an $80,000 vehicle bought new in 2012.
It continues a worrying recent trend of vehicles being stolen and burned in the Ballarat region of recent weeks.
Just last week, another Holden was burned out close to homes in Buninyong and overnight, another Holden parked in Eureka Street was torched in what is being described as a suspicious attack.
Anyone with information about any of the thefts is asked to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
