Ethan Tibbles has committed to the Wickers and will provide a key target in attack in 2019.
Playing for Bacchus Marsh last season, Tibbles booted 52 majors.
Ryan Knowles has helped lure Tibbles for what will be his third season as senior coach of the club.
Knowles took over in 2017 and the team won four games. The Wickers scored the same number of triumphs in 2018.
Creswick will open its new campaign with a clash against a bolstered up Clunes outfit.
The two sides will meet at Creswick on Saturday, March 30.
The Magpies have picked up a number of promising recruits and look set for a much-improved season.
Clunes, which is again under the care of senior coach Johno Leoncini, had to wait until round 17 to score its one and only victory in 2018.
