The entire interior of a Wendouree home has been gutted following a fire in the early hours of Saturday morning.
Crews from Ballarat City, Lucas and Wendouree fire brigades were called to the Clematis Avenue home just prior to 4.30am to reports of a house fire.
It is unclear how long it took to bring the blaze under control, however all that stood following the blaze was the home's brick structure.
While police have not deemed the blaze as suspicious, a spokesman told The Courier the home had been vacant for a number of weeks and there were no occupants present at the time of the fire.
Elsewhere, another car has been torched in what is becoming a serious nuisance for firefighters and police in the region.
Emergency services were called to Swapit Road in Creswick to reports of a car smoking.
Crews from Newlyn Dean, Creswick, Kingston were on scene to fight the blaze, however the black 2011 Ssangyong dual-cab ute was destroyed in the blaze.
Anyone with any information about either of these incidents is urged to contact Crimestoppers on 1800 333 000 or the Ballarat Crime Investigation Unit on 5336 6080.
