Kennedy is returning to his original club Altona in the Western Regional league.
His latest stint with the Devils lasted just one season.
The classy midfielder first moved to Darley in 2014 and had an immediate impact in what would be a three-year stay at Darley Park.
Kennedy finished in the top 10 in the BFL best and fairest before claiming the Henderson Medal in 2015 – a premiership year for Darley.
He was a regular BFL representative – captaining the Navy Blues in the inaugural AFL Victoria Community Championships in 2016.
Kennedy moved back to Altona in 2017 before having another go with the Devils, enjoying another fine season as one of the competition’s best ballgetters.
He was again named in the BFL team of the year and was joint runner-up in The Courier player of the year award as well having another top 10 finish in the Henderson Medal.
His absence in the midfield will be offset by the arrival of marquee recruit Nick Graham from Carlton.
While Kennedy exits, key defender Trent Angwin has been cleared to Darley by Bacchus Marsh after the arch-rivals reached agreement.
A BFL representative and Cobra premiership player, Angwin was announced as a Darley signing late last year.
The move initially upset Bacchus Marsh, given Angwin was contracted for this year.
The then Bacchus Marsh president Adam Sutherland expressed disappointment at the time Darley announcing Angwin's move on social media via Facebook.
Sutherland indicated that Angwin was unlikely to be cleared.
Angwin needed just one clearance application.
