Two second-half goals from Edwin North propelled the Sebastopol Vikings into the fourth round of the FFA Cup on Saturday.
North, who was making his first senior start for the club since arriving from Caroline Springs George Cross, found the net in the 58th and 71st minutes to secure the 3-2 victory over Springvale City.
The Vikings trailed twice during the match - including 2-1 at half time - but managed to triumph on the synthetic pitch at Morshead Park.
Jal Tuany scored Sebastopol's other goal in the first half.
Sebastopol will learn which side it will play in round four of the FFA Cup following the draw on Wednesday.
Vikings coach Michael Goodman said it was great to progress in the tournament, but maintained the major focus for the club was the upcoming men's state league three season.
Sebastopol will begin its campaign with a round one clash against Lalor United on Saturday, March 23.
Also over the weekend, Ballarat was bundled out of the FFA Cup after a 5-0 loss to Westgate.
Ballarat trailed 2-0 at half time and then conceded three more goals before the final whistle.
The club has moved into men's state league five this season and will kick off its campaign with an opening round fixture against Keilor Wolves on March 23.
