More than 250 tickets were sold the performances on Saturday, while a bush dance featuring music from the Peter Anderson and Men o' the Hill in Buninyong's Town Hall on Friday night sold out.
While the weather meant a few changes - and some extra woolly layers - music lovers were still treated to some of the region's best folk music in venues dotted around the centre of town.
Local folk and roots musicians Arkie T Williams, Paige and the Vinleys, Shane Gilbert, Blue Limit and Geoff Jones performed throughout Saturday.
Tanya Wiggins, who was on the music festival's organising committee, said Bended Knee had succeeded in offering a different musical delight to the region.
"I was quite amazed at how many happy faces there were wandering around, enjoying a range of music," she said.
"Roots isn't something on offer in Ballarat and around this region a lot, music is often a bit more folky. So we were trying to fill a bit of niche and offer something a bit different."
Organiser Martin Scuffins said it was likely the festival would run again, either annually or bi-annually.
"It's a lot smaller and a lot more intimate than other festivals, but it may grow and become bigger than Ben-Hur," he said.
"People were very warm and welcoming, and were thoroughly enjoying the music.
"This festival was truly run by locals and musicians, so everything blended nicely."
