After playing some great Basketball leading up to the final with the Southern Peninsula Sharks, the Miners were able to outlast their and secured the championship with a two-point victory.
Miners coach Andrew Renfree told The Courier the game was neck-o-neck throughout. With 30 second left and the score tied, it came down to a perfect shot from Ballarat's Ethan Drever to win the game.
"I was standing right behind him and I can tell you it looked perfect as soon as the ball left his hand," Renfree said.
After their win the whole team was full of emotion.
"Obviously there was a huge amount of excitement and a fair bit of relief," Renfree laughed.
"I have to take my hat off to our boys because they worked so hard and all contributed to us getting over the line."
