The Ballarat big-man tallied 21 points and 15 rebounds on Saturday night to help his side remain undefeated in the NBL1 competition.
But it was his effort on the defensive end which left many eyebrows raised after the match.
Deng blocked 11 shot attempts on the night to help limit the Bandits to a low 63 points.

The effort even left Ballarat Miners coach Brendan Joyce shaking his head who admitted he'd never seen anything like it.
"He's the first guy I've ever coached who has had double figures in blocks, that was amazing," he said.
Acuoth had nine blocks during the final term but secured his 10th on a chase-down after he was beaten off the dribble. Acuoth said it was a great feeling, but the win was more important.
"In the fourth coach Joyce told me I had nine blocks, so he kept me in the game just to get my 10th, so that was pretty cool," he said.

Acuoth said it was the first time he'd achieved the impressive stat-line which delighted his teammates. He said it was up there with one of the best games he's had.
"I've always been a shot blocker and that is something I like doing, I like playing defence and it's always something I've been able to do," he said.
The former Sydney King will hope to replicate the performance this weekend in a top-of-the-table showdown against the Kilsyth Cobras.
The status of import Marqueze Coleman is uncertain for the encounter after he came down on his ankle in Saturday's contest.
Joyce said the guard had undergone an x-ray but was optimistic he would play.
"We think he'll be okay. It wasn't a major strain, it's a mild strain, and if we get the right therapy and support around him then there is a good chance that will happen," he said.
