The new warning for heavy rainfall still includes Ballarat, but is tending more towards the east.
As of 12.30pm, 11.8mm of rain has fallen since 9am.
The total Ballarat rainfall since 7pm on Thursday is 55.6mm.
UPDATE, 10.30AM: A severe weather warning has just been issued for Ballarat, with flash flooding possible throughout the city.
The Bureau of Meteorology warns an additional 30-40mm of rain is possible in the Ballarat region today.
Thunderstorms may even produce rapid falls of 30-60mm in an hour.
It is expected to ease in the afternoon.
UPDATE, 10AM: The rain is continuing to bucket down in Ballarat and is showing little sign of abating.
The official 24-hour rainfall figure to 9am was 43.8mm.
However, there was a further 7.2mm as of 10am, with Ballarat in the middle of the heavy downpour.
Of particular interest will be the playing surface at Mars Stadium, ahead of the AFL match between Western Bulldogs and Brisbane Lions on Saturday.
With more than 50mm of rain falling in the days leading up to the match, the surface dubbed "the best in Australia" by Bulldogs' captain Easton Wood will be put to the ultimate test.
The SES continues to receive a number of calls for minor flooding and trees down across the region.
The traffic lights at the intersection of Sturt and Doveton streets have also been malfunctioning all morning.
EARLIER, 7.30AM: Ballarat is currently one of the wettest parts of Victoria after a soaking overnight, but there's definitely more rain on the way.
More than 37mm has fallen in Ballarat overnight, according to the Bureau of Meteorology, and we could be expected to get another 11mm today until it dries up around 4pm.
As of 7am, Ballarat had received 37.6mm.
We've essentially received more rain in the last 12 hours that we have in each complete month since the start of the 2019.
We're now sitting on 90mm of rainfall for the year.

The State Emergency Service received four calls for assistance overnight for building damage and fallen trees.
It is believed there have been further calls this morning.
Ballarat can expect an autumnal top temperature of 10 degrees on Friday, before hitting 13 degrees on Saturday and a slightly more agreeable top of 15 degrees forecast for Sunday.
Winds will peak at 40 km/h on Friday.
More than 20mm has fallen since 12am on Friday morning, with bluestone gutters already full and overflowing in the centre of Ballarat.
