The Ballarat Miners remain perfect after seven games in the NBL1 season after easily dispatching Eltham on the road on Sunday afternoon 104-80.
It was a terrific team effort as the Miners had seven players score in double figures including Zach Dunmore, who finished as the games top scorer after hitting eight of his nine three-point attempts for 24 points.
The game was close for much of the first half with neither team extending their lead beyond ten points. It was a different story in the second half as Ballarat put their foot on the pedal, outscoring the Wildcats 56-40.
Josh Fox had another impressive game, nearly registering a triple-double (13 points, 10 assists and eight rebounds) in his 32 minutes of play.
American import Marqueze Coleman did not appear in the contest. The combo-guard is coming off an injury a week ago and struggled in the Miners Saturday night win against the Kilsyth Cobras, registering only two points and missing all five of his shot attempts.
Rush out-last Wildcats for first win
The Ballarat Rush have finally registered their first win of the season, beating the Eltham Wildcats on the road in an exciting 80-72 game.
It was a stalemate in the first quarter as both teams were able to score well and the score locked at 20-20. Eltham had a clear game-plan to attack the Rush inside the three-point arch while Ballarat were living outside of it.
The second quarter was decisive for the Rush as they were able to hit their shots, outscoring the Wildcats 33-18 in the term.
Returning import Chanise Jenkins made a huge impact in the first half after only registering five points in their Saturday night loss. She hit four three-pointers en route to a 20-point first half.
The Wildcats were able to slowly work away at the 15-point deficit, taking the lead early in the fourth quarter. The were led by centre Margaret Mulligan who's 23 points led all scorers.
The Rush were able to hold on thanks to some clutch shot making by Joy Burke under the basket and ultimately finished as eight-point winners.
