Jason Greishan Crawford appeared in the dock of the Ballarat Magistrates Court on Thursday wearing a black tracksuit.
He did not apply for bail and was remanded in custody until next week.
Crawford has been charged with six offences relating to incidents on May 10 and May 13.
They include attempted burglary, theft, trespass, car theft and dishonestly obtaining property.
The charge sheet states the accused attempted to burgle a Stockland Wendouree car wash and attempted to steal a utility at Wendouree on May 10.
The charge sheet says the accused at Alfredton on May 13 stole a $60,500 Mazda CX9 and used a bank card to dishonestly obtain cigarettes and drinks from BP Ballarat West.
Ballarat lawyer David Tamanika represented Crawford in court.
EARLIER, THURSDAY 9AM: A 30-year-old man will face court this morning, charged with alleged burglary and car thefts offences relating to a number of incidents around the region in recent weeks.
The charges come after police raided a home in Mair Street on Wednesday, locating two men at the home.
A police spokesperson said a 30-year-old was capsicum-sprayed after allegedly trying to flee the premises.
"He was arrested and charged and has been remanded to appear at Ballarat Magistrates' Court this morning," she said.
"A 20-year-old man was also arrested at the scene in relation to separate matters and has been bailed to appear at court at a later date."
Police have also confirmed a 20-year-old Creswick man has been arrested at a property in Wendouree on Thursday morning and is currently being interviewed.
Police say the investigations into the series of car thefts remains ongoing and they hope to make more arrests in coming days.
