Right now the Ballarat trainer has a strike rate as good as anyone.
Stable favourite Spanner Head gave Alexander a seventh win from his latest 10 starters in the $125,000 John Meagher Hall of Fame Trophy, 1400m, at Flemington on Saturday.
Spannerhead completed Alexander a two-state double after import Clearly saluted in the listed $100,000 Centaurea Stakes, 2024, in Adelaide at her third Australian start.
Alexander's run began with Buena Veloz on the Ballarat synthetic on Sunday, May 12, and continued with Connery at Sandown Hillside, Andrea Mantegna _ the stable's first win with a jumper - at Hamilton, Kanzas City at Cranbourne and Buena Veloz again on the Ballarat synthetic.
Alexander is sitting on 47 wins in Victoria to be 13 in the state premiership.
Spanner Head was his 11th Melbourne metropolitan win.
MATT Cumani is also on a hot run.
Cumani made it five wins from 11 runners when Stratmiss scored in a maiden for three-year-olds at Bendigo on Sunday.
They have also come in the space of a week - starting with Dunlani at Sandown Hillside on Wednesday.
Declares War gave Cumani another city success in the $135,000 Mahogany Challenge Handicap, 2000m, at Flemington on Saturday.
The three-year-old has four wins in 10 career starts, but this was his first for Cumani after previously being trained by Darren Weir.
These have him the top 20 in the Victorian trainers' premiership.
AMY McDonald has produced her first winner since relocating her training operation from Cranbourne to Ballarat.
Tara Dreaming scored in a maiden hurdle at Casterton on Sunday.
Ballarat jumps jockey Richard Cully took the ride.
IF his previous success pattern is anything to go by, Thomas Carberry might not have to wait much longer before getting another win from his Ballarat stable.
On the day he had his first success in Ballarat in September last year, Carberry had a double.
Then in January-December, he had three wins in space of saddling up four starters.
He added to his tally with Transfer Allowance in a benhcmark58 handicap, 1600m, at Hamilton on Thursday.
