Properties lost power from as far south as Cressy to north near Avoca and east to Ballan.
One of the biggest outages was seen in Ballarat East with an area around Eureka Street seeing 114 homes cut to power. However, most of central Ballarat has been unaffected.
Powercor's most recent update said that 73 properties remained without power this morning.
It was hoped that the majority of outages would be restored by early this morning.
