Brandon Bosher struck first-blood for the Vikings after finding the back of the net in the 16th minute.
The Rangers tied the game at 1-1 minutes later off the boot of Thomas Cowling, but that was as close as the home side came to the Vikings.
Anthony Creati scored in the 29th minute to give the Vikings a 2-1 lead, followed quickly by Temitope Okoosi who doubled the margin five minutes later.
Sebastopol went on to win the match 3-1 after a scoreless second-half of action.
The win keeps the Vikings in fourth place on the BDSA ladder, while Warrnambool drops back to second.
Meanwhile Daylesford has claimed top-spot on the ladder following a win over the Forest Rangers. Two-second half goals from Claude Ayrton and Bear Hackenberger were all the visitors needed to dispatch the Rangers 2-0 at Wendouree Park.
Daylesford will take-on North Ballarat this weekend in what will be an anticipated top-end match.
Elsewhere North Ballarat were easy winners over Maryborough.
Ballarat SC enjoyed a narrow win over Victoria Park, while Creswick forfeited its match against Bacchus Marsh.
