Ms Woods has been appointed as BHS' director of people and culture, an executive role in the wake of two independent reviews into bullying and harassment through the organisation in 2016.
She will replace Fiona Brew, who worked to overhaul BHS' culture until moving to Colac Health as chief executive officer in May.
Ms Woods will arrive at BHS having overseen industrial relation matters in the 2017/18 merger of Mercy Health and Southern Cross Care Victoria's aged and community care divisions.
The Mercy Health HR general manager has also previously worked with disability support and employment service Interact Australia, WorkSafe Victoria and Bank Australia.
BHS announced Ms Woods' appointment in a written statement on Thursday evening. Her work with BHS will start on August 5.
