The Cats have organised a gathering at the club's Central Highlands Football League home clash with Learmonth before a meal and function in the evening.
Lindsay Lee was captain-coach of Newlyn in those back-to-back grand final wins and has fond memories of his time at the club.
"We beat Creswick in 1969 on absolutely the last kick of the day. Creswick was hot favourites and Newlyn was the only side that could match them that year," Lee said.
"In 1970 we beat Bungaree. We won that by a fair margin."
Newlyn's 1969 and 1970 premierships came in the Clunes Football League.
