Bacchus Marsh teenager Graeme Frislie has been selected to the Australian team ahead of the 2019 UCI Junior World Track Cycling Championships in Germany next month.
His selection comes on the back of some stellar form. Frislie was crowned Men's U19 Champion of Champion's at the Australian Track Cycling National Championship in Brisbane earlier in the year.
Frislie said while his selection didn't exactly come as a surprise, it was still a tremendous honour.
"I don't want to say it was a surprise to be selected but it was definitely a joy," he said.
The 18-year-old will join a team full of athletes he has raced against and is confident the Australian team can compete at the world championships after seeing how he and his teammates performed.
"It's really awesome to be surrounded by so many like-minded people who can support each other and motivate each other.
"I'm really happy with how I did at nationals... the times for not only myself but for everyone were really strong so let's hope we can perform well."
The Junior World Championships will take place from August 14 to 18 in Frankfurst, Germany.
