He will join fellow youngster Josh Rentsch who will also make his debut after both players performed well at the national under-16 championships on the Gold Coast last week.
Hobbs proved a standout at the event and was named in the All-Australian team following the competition.
The game is shaping up to be a baptism by fire for the youngsters against the Rebel's traditional rivals.
The Falcons will no-doubt be looking for redemption after the losing by one point to the GWV Rebels in the last meeting.
The Rebels however will be looking to get back on track following a narrow loss to the Western Jets two weeks ago. The year has been tough going thus far for the Rebels which sit 15th on the NAB League table.
But they will be favorites heading into Saturday's match against a Geelong outfit which has only won one game from ten outings.
James Cleaver and Matt Lloyd have been left out to play a AFL Victoria Young Guns game at Werribee on Saturday.
