Teigan Hill, 22, of Murray Bridge in South Australia pleaded guilty to one charge of trafficking a drug of dependence after 3.5 grams of methamphetamine was found in her possession following the crash at Pimpinio west of Horsham.
Two other, previous charges - possess a drug of dependence and use a drug of dependence - were struck out ahead of Monday's appearance at Horsham Magistrates' Court.
Hill was a passenger in a B-double truck, whose trailers became dislodged and caused the crash about 2am on July 11. A Murray Bridge man, 36, was driving the truck along the Western Highway near Pimpinio.
A Ferntree Gully man, 60, died after the passenger bus he was driving crashed into the trailers. More than 40 passengers were on board.
Hill told the court she was remorseful for her actions and said she would undertake rehabilitation services for drug use if released.
The court heard Hill had been in custody for 18 days and had experienced anxiety while in jail.
Magistrate Julie Grainger told Hill she needed to address her drug use through counselling.
"Drugs are obviously leading you to commit criminal offences," Ms Grainger said.
Ms Grainger said if Hill wasn't a South Australian resident, she would have placed Hill on a community corrections order.
Hill was sentenced to 14 days in jail, with 18 days already served.
More to come.
