The multi-million dollar restoration is just about complete with the final equipment being moved into place for the reopening which will officially take place on September 13.
Royal South Street Society chief executive officer Brett Macdonald said the society will start to set-up its offices and administration at Her Majesty's this month.
The final opening date has seen the choral competition miss out after it was scheduled to be hosted at Her Majesty's on August 25-27.
"We look forward to welcoming the community to see our competition shine on the stage of Her Majesty's Ballarat this year," Mr Macdonald said.
"We would like to thank the City of Ballarat for its outstanding work to deliver the theatre back in time for the Aria competition.
"To have a project of that scale and complexity to now be able to say yes, we are back in is really exciting, It's the perfect way to start with Australia's premier Aria competition.
"Also for us getting dancing and calisthenics back was critical and I'm sure a lot of Ballarat traders will be thrilled we can have that back this year."

It comes as competition this week moved into full swing as virtuosos from around the state tickled the ivories as part of the Schimmel Pianoforte Competition.
At the weekend, young piano players took part in the Margaret Schofield Memorial Prize which celebrated the works of Chopin.
Anna Gao from Mount Dandenong was named the winner of the 16-32 age group, from Hannah Shin of Carlton and Rachel Shindang of Point Cook who rounded out the top three.
In the 16-years and under Piano Solo, Max Jiang of Carlton won from Samuel Lee of Manor Lakes and Artemii Safonov of Werribee. This week the Diocesan Centre will host the Pianoforte competition with events continuing until Wednesday.
