In the Hockey Men's League 1 competition sixth-placed WestVic struggled to create separation against ninth-placed North West Lightning. Both sides failed to score in the first half before each netting a goal in the second term, leading to a 1-1 draw.
The WestVic women's team were looking at a similar result to the men going into the second half with the scores locked at 1-1 against the third-placed Lightning. It was however not to be as a second goal to North West's Madeleine White sealed a 2-1 win for the Lightning.
Both WestVic teams will travel next weekend to face Monash University.
