The Rangers scored four second-half goals to steamroll Bacchus Marsh at Jones Oval on Sunday.
The win sets the stage for a showdown against Daylesford this week in what could well be a grand final preview in the last week before finals.
Daylesford meanwhile showed no signs of vulnerability in its 7-0 thumping of Maryborough. Daylesford rode a five-goal effort from forward Owen Turbitt to clinch the game at Victoria Park.
The victory keeps them one win ahead of Warrnambool which can finish tied for first with a win on Sunday.
Elsewhere Victoria Park defeated Forest Rangers 2-0 at Morshead Park. Ballarat North United piled on 16 goals to defeat Ballarat.
Alexander Chester, Oliver Richardson and Jack Gaffney all scored hat-tricks, while the Sebastopol Vikings thumped Creswick.
