Vikings youngster Liam Dawson drew neck-and-neck with 30-year-old teammate Kuany Jal Tuany with a goal in Saturday's draw against Point Cook.
The strike sets the stage for a showdown between the two players in the final two games of the season.
Dawson trailed Tuany by two goals when the The Courier first reported on the unique race in July. He has since scored three goals to Tuany's one in the weeks that followed.
The friendly competition has provided a fun talking point for the club which currently sits 10th on the Football Victoria state league three north-west ladder.
The race will continue this weekend when the Vikings take on Williamstown at Morshead Park.
