The Midlands District was among the top performers at the weekend at the Victorian Country Short Course Championships held in Ballarat.

More than 100 Ballarat swimmers competed against 40 clubs from across the state.
All three Ballarat clubs scored in the top 20 of combined team scores, with Ballarat Gold Swimming Club finishing third overall.
Ballarat Gold tallied 19 medals as well as numerous personal bests en-route to the top-three finish.
Ben Grima won gold in the boys 14-15 years 100-metre backstroke to go along with a sliver and bronze medal, while Eloise Hennig took out gold in the girls 18-over 50m breast stroke. She recorded a top-10 finish in eight other events.
Meanwhile Ballarat Swimming Club's Jonas Paar picked up a silver medal in the 14-15 years 100m breaststroke, while Kairui Tong claimed bronze in the under-11 50m freestyle.
The pair made up two of eight swimmers from the club to record a top-eight finish. Ballarat Swimming Club finished with 45 PBs and an additional 10 state qualifying times across the weekend.
Ballarat GCO Swimming Club made up the smallest representation of the three clubs with 24 swimmers, but still managed an impressive 65 PBs of its own.
Taylor Mason was a standout for the club, winning bronze in the 12-13 years 200m freestyle, while Lucas Kent finished 4th in the 14-15 years 100m freestyle.
Traralgon Swimming Club took home the Bob Carmichael Memorial Trophy after scoring the highest point aggregate at the meet.
GCO President Aaron Lakin the event was a great way to showcase Ballarat.
"We were extremely pleased, it was an excellent meet. We are thankful to those who volunteered their time and efforts in what was a successful weekend," he said.
