The contest was closer than the scoreline suggested in the match played at Morshead Park on Saturday.
The Vikings produced a number of chances with both Jal Tuany and Ed North coming agonisingly close to goals, while Mitch Ralston had a shot thunder off the post.
But Williamstown proved clinical at the other end with forward Alex Vlassis scoring a hat-trick. It wasn't all bad news however with Vikings youngster Jordan Armstrong scoring his first senior goal.
It was the third last game of the season for the bottom-end side. Following the match, Hollingworth said "it has just been one of those seasons."
