The Wickers last won the senior premiership in 1987 and the reserves flag in 1988, which was the last cup in a three-year period of dominance by that team.
Coach Dean Romeril and his charges can end the baron run with victory over Springbank at Mars Stadium.
The Wickers finished third on the ladder at the end of the home and away rounds, one spot below the Tigers.
The team then beat Springbank in a low-scoring qualifying final before sneaking home over rivals Newlyn by three points in the preliminary final last weekend.
The week one finals loss meant the Tigers had to defeat Gordon and reigning premiers Buninyong to progress through to Saturday's decider.
In an interesting twist, Creswick's Ryan Knowles will come up against brother Tim, who plays for Springbank.
Earlier in the morning, Buninyong and Gordon lock horns in the under-18 grand final.
The Bombers finished third on the table, but on the same points as the Eagles, which claimed the minor premiership.
Both sides won qualifying and preliminary finals.
The one and only meeting between the two came back in round five and saw Buninyong prevail by 23 points.
Kicking off the big day of grand finals is the under-15s at 8.30am.
Gordon will come up against Springbank in this clash.
The Eagles ended the home and away campaign in second spot and cruised through to the decider with finals wins over Buninyong and minor premiers Dunnstown.
From fourth, the Tigers beat the Towners and then Beaufort.
In the previous meeting between the two grand finalists, the Eagles prevailed by 38 points.
Springbank last won the under-15 flag in 2017, while Gordon hasn't tasted success in this grade since back in 1999.
