THIEVES have robbed a Ballarat East mother of her most precious memories after nabbing a laptop containing every photograph of her newborn baby daughter.

Leah Walters has pleaded with the culprits to return the images, which include the last weeks of her pregnancy, images from the hospital and the first two weeks of baby Zoe’s life.
Thieves gained entry to the Nicholson Street home between 9am and 10am Monday, when Ms Walters was taking her toddler Mackenzie, 3, to kindergarten.
She said her black Toshiba Satellite laptop with a dark-grey top was stolen, along with clothes, DVDs, her partner’s Playstation and Xbox and a white gold and emerald ring that was an 18th birthday present from her sister.
Ms Walters said that, unlike the other things, the photographs could never be replaced.
“I just freaked out. I lost my breath and started crying,” she said.
“It has all the photos from the last couple of months that I haven’t backed up yet.
“There are photos of her first feed and all the photos of when we were in hospital.
“One day she’s going to want to see those photos. She’ll think we don’t love her because we don’t have any.”
The thieves smashed a hole in the back door, taking $2000 worth of goods from the house.
Mackenzie’s favourite Hi-5 DVD was also missing.
“We told her some naughty people had come in and taken our stuff,” Ms Walters said.
