I can't understand Cr Amy Johnson's reasoning for attacking the Andrews Labor Government in the council chamber this week, over the lighting promise for Lake Wendouree (The Courier, 13/9/2019) and can only conclude it is a case of attempted political point-scoring.

If I'm reading your article correctly, it appears the Andrews Labor Government has budgeted $2.5 million for this project to go ahead but are waiting on the Ballarat City Council to finalise and submit their plans for this project.
So in other words, the ball is in council's court, yet Cr Amy Johnson - the failed Liberal candidate for Wendouree - chooses to play politics with this very important issue.
Instead of attacking the Andrews Labor Government perhaps her criticism should be directed towards her own council as it appears the delay in rolling out this project is coming from council itself and not the state government.
The lighting plan for Lake Wendouree is a brilliant initiative and I personally think that it's sad an elected member of Council, who doubles up as the Vice President (Country Female) of the Victorian Liberal Party as elected by members in June, 2019, is misleading the public and using the Council Chamber to play the game of dirty politics.
