It will be the first taste of the city for Western United which will play four games at Mars Stadium during the 2019-20 A-League season. For Western United players such as Valentino Yuel, it will be the first chance to show the Ballarat community what the team could do.
"We are really looking forward to it, I know people from Ballarat already, and I've been looking forward to the city seeing us play as a team and see how we are gelling," he said.
The 24-year-old is one of the newest additions to Western United after coming across from the Bentleigh Greens in the NPL.
He said Saturday's match was a good opportunity to get Ballarat fans on board.
"We want to put on a good show," he said.
"We want to play a versatile type of football and from that chemistry will come.
"Playing against such good opposition is going to be a learning opportunity for us and it will be great going into the start of the season."
Western United have had an up and down preseason thus far which has included a win over Melbourne City and a 6-0 loss to Melbourne Victory.
Yuel said the popularity around the team had been surprising.
"The hype has gotten around pretty quick and it's a surprise how many people want to watch our games," he said.
Kick-off on Saturday will commence at 3pm at Morshead Park.
