Less than a week removed from watching Richmond raise the AFL premiership cup, Shaun Grigg has departed Tigerland to head to another of the competition's perennial contenders.

Grigg has joined the Geelong Cats as a developmental coach.
Speaking to the media on Wednesday, Grigg says everything happened in short order in terms of joining the Cats organisation.
"It all happened pretty quickly to be honest," he said.
"I've been living down here (Geelong) for about a month with my young family... I had a chat with Simon Lloyd a couple of weeks ago, then got the chance to speak to Chris Scott and a couple of the coaches about a possible role in developing young players on the success that Richmond has had in the last few years."
When asked if coaching had been on his mind as injuries brought an end to his 214 game career, Grigg relented it was something he had considered.
"Towards the end of this year it was... once I got a little bit of a taste of it, it was something I wanted to pursue. I'm lucky enough to get this opportunity."
Having spend the last nine years with the Tigers, Grigg said there was some initial difficulty putting on the blue and white of Geelong.
"I wasn't sure if I'd be able to put it on," he laughed, speaking about when he got his Geelong polo shirt.
"It feels a bit different but I'll get used to it."
Grigg will begin his role with Geelong in November.
