Georgia Amoore has made the decision to sign with the Virginia Tech Hokies.
Amoore, 18, played a large role for the Rush in 2019, acting as a sixth woman off the bench where she scored over 11 points and dished out over three assists a game.
Speaking to The Courier, the first word out of Rush coach Eric Hayes' mouth spoke volumes about his excitement for Amoore.
"Awesome," he said.
Hayes heaped praise on Amoore for her dedication and hard work in getting to the position she is now.
"She's going to be awesome... she's a hard worker, she just puts in extra time day after day, she's coach-able, she listens, if you show her something and she can't pick it up straight away she'll go spend time on it until she masters it.
"I'm just proud of her getting just dues for the effort she's put in."
While Hayes relented Amoore would have to adjust to a different style of play in the American college system, he said he is confident the youngster will adjust accordingly.
"It's going to be different for sure but I'm confident she'll adjust.
"It's going to take some time but you've got to look at the fact she's been playing for Australia against very high quality competition.
"She's pretty smart, she'll adjust to whatever the situation is and whatever she needs to do."
Amoore is the third Rush player to depart the team for the American college system this year, with Ballarat local Laura Taylor headed to Northwest Florida State College and Lucy Cochrane bound for Oregon.
Basketball Ballarat junior elite teams manager Glenn White says its great to see the program helping players along their pathways.
"You always aspire as a program to get children as far as you can," he said.
"It's unfortunate for us that we've lost Georgia and Laura Taylor for next year but that's part of their pathway and I think that's always for the best."
