Relieving congestion in Melbourne means quick push through by a railway crossing removal authority with ample funding.
Providing good access to and from regional Victoria can't be done on the cheap, especially when half a billion dollars has already been invested in the Ballarat line. Because it is an investment not an expense.

Problem better served with a returns policy
I've been thinking about the latest recycling crisis...it occurs to me that the nub of the problem is that we have too much packaging, both in variety and volume, and that we have a linear process for dealing with it - quite contrary to circular processes that exist in nature for 'getting rid' of unwanted (organic) stuff.
So, we have all heard of the '4 R's' - 'Refuse, Reduce, Reuse, Recycle'; why not a fifth: 'Return' - send all of the stuff back from whence it came; i.e.: to the original manufacturers, where - presumably - they will be able to recycle the materials back into new packaging and other products. I can't wait.....

Ongoing road woe
I feel as if the Ballarat council should focus more on the roads of Ballarat than other events.
I understand Ballarat is growing and we need to support that, but our roads are ruined with potholes everywhere.
The roads must be fixed unless council is prepared to fix every car affected by this disrepair?

My concern is our roads are getting ruined by grain and log trucks.
Roads not made for continuous travel every day, that are becoming very dangerous.

Two sets of laws
Congratulations to Jack Aston and welcome back into society.
Hopefully he can settle in and find some peace and comfort in your life.
The fact that he spent even one day in jail is an disgrace.
It would seem had he taken up ice and learned to spit, punch and kick against our emergency services he would never have been penalised.
I say, good luck to Jack and his family and let's hope that no one else ever has to be subject to what you've been through.
