The 22-year-old guard was named Federation University Athlete of the Year for his efforts with the Miners and with Fed Uni's basketball team, which he led as captain/coach.
Weightman played 15 games for the Miners in the NBL1 this season, averaging just under 10 minutes per game.
He also appeared in 10 games for the Youth Miners in the side's premiership winning campaign.
