CFA crews have been called out to a series of fires this evening across Ballarat and the district, however most have turned out to be burn offs gone wrong.

Despite the pouring rain, crews were called out to four separate events in the space of 20 minutes from 7.30pm, including reports a house fire in Tress Street Mount Pleasant.
Other fires have also been reported at Modesty Lane, Burrumbeet, Western Highway also near Burrumbeet and in Norman Street Wendouree.
At least three of the fires have since been declared burn offs gone wrong, while full details about the Tress Street fire, which had smoke showing from the backyard when crews arrived, are yet to be confirmed.
