Ballarat footballer and Richmond premiership player Dan Butler has given some insight into why he made the move to Moorabbin from Punt Road.

Speaking to SEN, Butler said St Kilda's young talent played a large role in his decision making process.
"They've got (Jade) Gresham and (Jack) Steele," he said.
"I reckon Gresham's a fair gun; I love watching him play. Matty Parker and Jack Lonie and (Max) King, who's going to be a star.
"I'm really looking forward to playing alongside them and some of the new recruits; Brad Hill and the likes as well."
Butler, 23, added after meeting with his new club, it was hard to look at playing anywhere else.
"They were very welcoming with me and really believed in me and my strengths as a footballer.
"They just really sold it to me, and it was hard not to choose them when it came down to it."
Butler had fallen out of favour with the Tigers over the 2019 season, appearing in only seven games in the side's eventual premiership campaign.
The small forward said towards the back half of the season he started weighing up the prospects of moving clubs in the off-season.
"It was probably the second half of the year where I knew I was out of contract at the end of this year and obviously wasn't getting the opportunity I would have liked at AFL level," he said.
"Towards the end of the season was when I really had to make a decision."
Butler played a key role in the Tigers' VFL premiership victory over Williamstown.
