Police have laid charges against a man allegedly involved in the death of cyclist Mark Spenceley in Clunes.

Almost eight months after the incident on March 24, police on Friday announced they have charged a 31-year-old Black Hill man over the crash.
The man has been charged with dangerous driving causing death, driving in a manner dangerous and careless driving.

He has been bailed to appear at the Ballarat Magistrates' Court on January 23, 2020.
Mr Spenceley was a dedicated CFA member, who had been in the service both as an employee and volunteer since 1982.
He was also heavily involved in the Creswick Football Club.
According to family at his funeral, his death "left a hole in our family that can't be filled."
