The veteran performer will tonight take to the Frolic Festival stage as one of the great entertainers the world has seen, Dame Shirley Bassey, in her original show, 'I Am What I Am'.
Andrew, a 50-year stage presence with credits from rock to opera as well as a host of legendary divas such as Marlene Dietrich and Liza Minnelli, is bringing the legendary songstress to the Printers Room tonight for one show only.
"When I came up to Daylesford in 2013 I ran into an old friend of mine who does a lot of theatre stuff in the area," she said.
"A couple of month later, I had an idea to do a Marlene Dietrich show and I was contacted and they needed something within a week, so I put that together in a week and got a standing ovation and ever since I've liked to do a different show each year."
Andrew said this particular show had a strong meaning of acceptance.
"When I was in Hair, I can remember Joh Bjelke-Petersen was in power, I remember gay people in the cast had to stay in their hotels and go to the theatre, that was it. That was my first strong memory of discrimination against people," she said.
"Every gay person has a straight sister or brother or mum and I'm so tired of people being labelled.
"I'm 70 next month and I still get out and chop wood and mow lawns and I know so many people exactly the same as me. This is a show for everyone that has in some way faced discrimination."
Tickets range from $15-20 and can be purchased from frolicfestival.org
