North Melbourne has announced Rippon and Rodd among changes to its list for next season.
Each was a foundation player for the Kangaroos in 2018 after the Roosters disbanded.
Rippon added to his already decorated VFL career at North Melbourne, winning its inaugural best and fairest.
The 25-year-old, who took his tally of VFL game past 100 while with the Roos, is planning to take time away from football next year to travel.
Originally with East Ballarat juniors, Rippon was the 2015 JJ Liston Trophy winner as VFL best and fairest, as well as a Roosters best and fairest.
He was also a Rebels best and fairest in 2012 and TAC Cup under-18 best and fairest runner-up in the same year.
Rodd was with the Roosters after stepping up from the Ballarat Swans in the BFL and has had South Barwon in the Geelong league as his home club.
Rippon adopted Lake Wendouree as his home club in 2016, switching from East Point and has since been aligned with Uni Blues in the VAFA.
