Lincoln Chetcuti may only be 11 years old, but he's already way ahead of the game. Literally.
The fustal standout has been selected as part of an Australian representative squad which will tour Hawaii for two weeks.
He will play a series of matches against American teams before playing off in the Pacific Rim Cup.
The local standout could hardly wipe the smile off his face.
"I'm excited for the experience and to play for my country," he said.
Chetcuti was one of only two Victorians to crack the squad after impressing selectors at a national tournament in Queensland.
The super-skilled winger, who only took up the game three years ago, said he liked scoring goals as well as setting up his teammates.
"I find the game fun, it's a good game and I get to meet different people," he said.
Chetcuti is a long-time member of Ballarat's JINGA Academy - a program which helped enhance futsal skills at an early age.
Development coach Jake Francis said Chetcuti embodied what the program teaches.
"We focus on all the basic skills, as well as game-play sense, how to play properly and also enjoyment," he said.
"Lincoln is the perfect example of our program - he listens, works hard and does all the right things.
"He's definitely got the understanding, and is always in the right spots and makes the right decisions."
