On a total fire ban day, gusts of above 80 kilometres an hour fanned a number of fires.

Creswick: 2.17pm (UNDER CONTROL)
A grass fire has started along Broomfield Road in Creswick after a tree has fallen onto powerlines.
Multiple units are attending the incident as the fire begins in quickly spread.
Miners Rest: 1.47pm (UNDER CONTROL)
A small blaze has been brought under control along the Sunraysia Highway in Miners Rest.
The cause of the blaze remains unknown.
Dereel: 1.44pm (UNDER CONTROL)
A small blaze has been reported at the corner of Snowgun Road and Harrisons Road in Dereel.
The cause of the blaze remains unknown.
Smeaton: 1.43pm (UNDER CONTROL)
A small blaze has been brought under control at an olive farm along the Creswick-Smeaton Road in Smeaton.
The cause of the blaze is believed to be a bonfire and the cause of the fire is unknown.
Trentham: 1.33pm (UNDER CONTROL)
Multiple units have been fighting a blaze near Rocke Court in Trentham, which started in a wood pile.
The pile is reportedly a metre-and-a-half wide by two metres wide.
Timor: 1.22pm (UNDER CONTROL)
A small blaze has been brought under control along the Humbug Mine Road in Timor, north of Maryborough.
The cause of the blaze remains unknown.
Streatham: 1.21pm (UNDER CONTROL)
A small blaze has been brought under control along the Eurambeen-Streatham Road north of Streatham.
The cause of the blaze remains unknown.
Mount Hooghly: 1.14pm (ADVICE)
Advice has been issued more areas surrounding a small blaze along the Bet Bet-Mt Hooghly Road, South of Dunolly.
This Advice message is being issued for Bet Bet, Mount Hooghly, Timor, Timor West.
- There is a grassfire at Bet Bet-Mt Hooghly Rd, Mount Hooghly that is not yet under control.
There is currently no threat to you, but you should stay informed and monitor conditions.
What you should do:
- Keep the roads clear so emergency services can respond.
- If you have time, check your neighbours to see if they are monitoring conditions.
Impacts in your area:
- Smoke may be visible from nearby communities and roads.
The cause of the blaze remain unknown.
Natte Yallock: 1pm (WATCH AND ACT)
A watch and act alert has been put forward for a large blaze burning out of control in Natte Yallock along Mills Lane.
Initial reports are that the blaze is burning over 30 hectares.
This Watch & Act message is for Avoca, Homebush, Natte Yallock, Rathscar West, Lower Homebush, Riversdale, Rathscar, Percydale.
- There is a grassfire at Mills Lane, Natte Yallock that is not under control.
- This grassfire is travelling in a southerly direction towards Rathscar West.
What you should do:
- Monitor changes to the situation. Increased wind speed, change in wind direction, smoke or poor visibility can indicate the situation is changing.
- If you are away from home, do not return.
- If you're in a car and become caught in a grassfire, don't get out and run.
- If you have time, check your neighbours to see if they are monitoring conditions.
If the situation changes you will need to leave quickly. Plan to:
- Take your pets, medications, mobile phone and charger.
- Travel to the home of family or friends that are away from the warning area.
- Emergency Services may not be able to help you if you decide to stay.

Smythes Creek: 12.42pm (UNDER CONTROL)
A small bushfire has been brought under control on Tudors Road in Smythes Creek.
Five vehicles are believed to have been dispatched.
The size of the fire is currently unknown, however it is believed to have been caused by a burnoff which has been re-ignited by the high winds.
Newbury: 12.30pm (UNDER CONTROL)
A small blaze on the Blackwood Road in Newbury has been brought under control.
The blaze is believed to have been been caused by a burnoff which has been re-ignited by the high winds.
Waubra: 12.27pm (UNDER CONTROL)
A small blaze has been brought under control at the Waubra Football Club Oval in Waubra.
The blaze is believed to have been been caused by a burnoff which has been re-ignited by the high winds.
Skipton: 12.25pm (UNDER CONTROL)
A small blaze has been declared safe at the corner of Skipton Road and MT William Road in Skipton.
The blaze is believed to have been been caused by a burnoff which has been re-ignited by the high winds.
Moyston: 11.46am (UNDER CONTROL)
A small blaze has been brought under control along the Ararat Halls Gap Road in Moyston.
Six units helped contain the blaze, which was brought under control in just under 20 minutes.
The blaze is believed to have been been caused by a burnoff which has been re-ignited by the high winds.
Streatham: 11.33am (UNDER CONTROL)
A blaze which is believed to be deliberately lit has been brought under control along the Glenelg Highway near Streatham.
The fire was brought under control after around 40 minutes.
MT Glasgow: 11.22 (EMERGENCY ALERT)
Multiple CFA strike teams have been formed to help fight a bushfire near Mt Glasgow.
The blaze, believed to be about 10 hectares in size, is spreading from its starting point at Mt Glasgow.
Wind gusts as strong as 85km/h were recorded in Ballarat at 11.30am.
It is not yet known how the fire started.
The fire has erupted on a day where Code Red alerts have been issued in Victoria for the first time since Black Saturday.
Although this fire does not fall within the Code Red zone, it is still a Total Fire Ban throughout Victoria.
Clunes residents have been informed by the CFA that they do not yet need to evacuate.
A secondary information message has been sent out by the CFA, advising of the fire.
The new yellow-coloured advice message covers the area to the south of the initial emergency warning zone.
It says: "There is currently no threat to you, but you should stay informed and monitor conditions."
