Short scored five points for Melbourne United in the side's 10-point loss to Sydney on Sunday.
Checking in in the last quarter, the point guard dropped two baskets, including one three pointer in just over five minutes of action.
The achievement was a bright moment in an otherwise dark affair for Melbourne United, which was outplayed for the majority of the match.
Melbourne United teammate and Australian Boomers player Mitch McCarron even took to twitter following the match to congratulate Short, saying his efforts don't go unnoticed.
Short is in his third year with the powerhouse club after signing on as a development player in 2017.
He has played minimal minutes through 13 games this season.
Melbourne United currently sit fourth on the competition ladder.
