In a media release, the City of Ballarat said it had made the decision given the increased Christmas traffic around Albert Square.
The City of Ballarat's director of infrastructure and environment Terry Demeo thanked the Albert Square management for supporting the initiative.
It keeps the number of glass drop-off points around the city to eight, with other locations at the Gillies Street transfer station in Alfredton, Ballarat Greyhound Racing Club, Buninyong, Lucas, Miners Rest, Mount Clear, and Stockland in Wendouree.
Council also announced there would be extended weekend opening hours for the Gillies Street transfer station, with the site now open from 8am on both Saturday and Sunday during December.
Mr Demeo said council was "exceptionally grateful" for how the Ballarat community worked to keep glass out of their recycling bins.
The change to the recycling process was introduced towards the end of September when the council appointed a new company, Australian Paper Recovery, to process the city's kerbside recycling.

Under the new contract, no glass would be taken accepted due to the contamination it causes for other material collected.
There was a higher take-up than anticipated for the glass drop-off points, which led to some resident complaints about over flowing glass bins.
Between 15 to 20 tonnes was reportedly being collected every week in November, with that number likely to rise during the festive season.
Stockpiled glass is currently stored at a site in Wendouree belonging to Vic Waste Solutions.
According to director Jon Kennedy, there is currently around 170 to 180 tonnes being stored on site.
He said they were very hopeful of being able to use the product for local markets, with several interested parties.
He also said there was a back-up plan in the event no local market could be found.
