Owner and manager of Volta, the new bar and bandroom taking over the space, Zac Hill, told The Courier Ballarat live music fans can expect something brand new when doors open to the public in the coming weeks.
"We want Volta to be something different from Karova while still providing an awesome avenue for live music in Ballarat," he said.
"As a piece for the town it's really important to have a live music venue like this and that's the biggest motivator for what we're doing."
Volta: Art and Culture is beginning to take shape, adding new elements to the venue while also paying homage to the history of what came before it.
"The re-brand and re-opening is about paying homage to the past but also looking towards the future of this venue."
The venue already has confirmed multi-Aria award winning artist Josh Pyke as its first announced gig, with more coming soon.
