Bramble is renewing his ties with Williamstown after fully focusing on the Lions in the Ballarat Football League last season.

The midfielder has had two stand-out years with Sunbury, being named in back-to-back BFL teams of the year, representing the BFL in the AFL Victorian Community Championships and two seasons ago lining up for Vic Country.

He first put his toe in the water with Williamstown in 2016 with a full season in the AFL Development League and has made a sprinkling of VFL appearances since.

Bramble will be one of four VFL-listed players in Sunbury colours this year.

The Lions will also have new signings Tyson Lever and Jake Sutton (Coburg), and Harrison Minton-Connell (Port Melbourne).

Sutton and Minton-Connell each played with Calder Cannons in the NAB League under-18 competition last year.

A young forward, Sutton is from neighbouring Riddell District league side Rupertswood, where he played in a premiership last season, and Minton-Connell hails from Aberfeldie in the Essendon District league.

Minton-Connell is a son of former VFL/AFL player Simon Minton-Connell, who kicked 305 goals in 112 games with Carlton, Sydney, Hawthorn and Western Bulldogs from 1986 to 1998.

The youngster is described as an in-and-under midfielder. He averaged 21 possessions last season.

MEANWHILE, another two former North Ballarat Roosters have called an end to their VFL careers.

Tom Schnerring and Lane Buckwell have retired at Williamstown, which they joined in 2018 after the Roosters folded, after battling long-term injuries. Schnerring is tied to Heidelberg and Buckwell to Williamstown CYMS.

Schnerring is originally from Warrnambool, but did have Ballarat Swans as his home club in 2018. Buckwell was a key defender with Lake Wendouree before trying his luck in the VFL.

They join another ex-Rooster Ollie Tate leaving the Seagulls.

LIAM Carter has permanently stepped away from the VFL.

The swingman played 19 games with the Bloods last season, with most of his time spent in attack as well as always being a tall option for defence.

With Mark Orr not playing, Carter's commitment will be important as Melton works to build on grand final and preliminary final appearances in the past two years.
